a mountain’s pulse,
a return to origin
a site-specific interdisciplinary performance that illuminates the connection between body and earth, linking the story of a person's pulse with that of a mountain.
Paige Barnes and visual artist Mya Kerner explored the interconnected nature of the body and the land through dance and sculpture.
Together they installed a mountain’s pulse, a return to origin at INSCAPE Arts during an annual open house.
The origins of the dance and sculpture are from a residency that listened and responded to over 30 guests’ pulses at 10degrees in Seattle, WA.
The performance took place in a basement hallway over a 5-hour period. A mountain held the space for a dance ritual scored by poetry, sound bowls, cello, and silence.
Residency at 10degrees
