Marriage at the Eiffel Tower

Sunday vacuity; human beastliness, ready-made expressions, disassociation of ideas from flesh and bone, ferocity of childhood, the miraculous poetry of everyday life.
— Jean Cocteau

Seattle Chamber Players commissioned Paige Barnes to choreograph a dance based on the story of Marriage at the Eiffel Tower by Jean Cocteau in collaboration with with composer Ivan Sokolov. Paige explored Cocteau’s wedding breakfast through the eyes of the lion’s appetite for the general.
